Healthy Life-Styles Nutrition and Wellness Centres began the way many meaningful things do—with a life pivot and a whole lot of heart.

In the mid-1990s, after a round of layoffs and facing some personal health challenges, Ernie decided it was time for a change. With a deep interest in natural health —and Irene (his soulmate) by his side— the first Healthy Life-Styles store opened in 1996 in St. Thomas, Ontario.

Ernie poured his passion into practicing nutritional and botanical medicine while building the foundation of a business rooted in care, trust, and community. As the company grew, so did their lives—Irene returned to work in administration, and Ernie pursued a new chapter as a paramedic before eventually coming back full-time to the business. Today, Irene works with Norfolk County, and Ernie continues to guide HLNC with the same purpose it started with: helping people feel their best, naturally.

While their story built the foundation, the heart of HLNC is now the staff and practitioners who show up every day with knowledge, care, and a genuine commitment to your wellness journey.
